Chest Plate

A chest/breast plate originally signified strength and protection in battle. Today they hold the same symbolism but more as a representative scale

Its triangular shape holds symbolic meaning, representing balance, strength, and resilience. Tapatoru are also used in weaving, like tukutuku, tāniko, kete, and korowai, and are a prominent symbol of Māori culture.

The spirals in Koru symbolises the new fern shoot, as it opens bringing new life and purity to the world. It also represents strength, spirituality along with a strong sense of re-growth and harmony.
